Football Recap: Chaparral Pumas vs. Leuzinger Olympians
Chaparral and Leuzinger squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Chaparral had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Olympians by a score of 19-16. The Pumas gained 79 more yards on the day, but it was the Olympians that made the best use of them.

Chaparral's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dane Weber, who rushed for 36 yards and one TD, and also threw for 145 yards and one touchdown. Trevor Schneider helped out on the ground, rushing for 125 yards.
Journee Tonga was his usual excellent self, rushing for 212 yards and three scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry for Leuzinger. That's the most rushing yards Tonga has posted since back in November of 2024.
Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Leuzinger, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.
Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leuzinger, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 35-7 defeat against San Clemente on the 21st.
