Basketball Game Preview: South View Tigers vs. Seventy-First Falcons

The South View Tigers and the Seventy-First Falcons will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South View is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Purnell Swett: they outscored them in every quarter. South View blew past Purnell Swett 57-34 on Tuesday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Seventy-First entered their tilt with Jack Britt on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 50-40 win over the Buccaneers. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 270th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seventy-First has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for South View, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.

South View strolled past Seventy-First in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 62-44. Will South View repeat their success, or does Seventy-First have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
