Baseball Recap: Marriotts Ridge Takes a Loss

Marriotts Ridge had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-6 to make it four. They came up short against the Atholton Raiders, falling 12-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Marriotts Ridge has suffered against Atholton since May 10, 2021.

As for Atholton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-7. Considering they have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Atholton's part, Jack Martin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Martin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of William Conroy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marriotts Ridge will welcome Guilford Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marriotts Ridge are facing the Panther at the right time seeing as the Panther are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Atholton, they will take on Hammond at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
