Recap: Van Wert Cougars vs. Ottawa-Glandorf Titans
The Van Wert Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Ottawa-Glandorf, falling 59-26. While losing is never fun, Van Wert can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while Ottawa-Glandorf is ranked 12th).
Katie Deamicis was Van Wert's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Jazzlyn Florence held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.
Van Wert has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Ottawa-Glandorf, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Van Wert will square off against Coldwater at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ottawa-Glandorf, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Central Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
