Softball Recap: East Poinsett County Warriors vs. Rector Cougars

In what's become a running theme this season, East Poinsett County gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 14-8 margin over the Rector Cougars. The victory was nothing new for East Poinsett County as they're now sitting on four straight.

Kylee Henderson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. Henderson was also big at the plate, going 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Terrin Powell was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Riley Ashcraft, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

East Poinsett County's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Rector, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Poinsett County will challenge Buffalo Island Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
