Basketball Recap: Prescott's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

If Prescott was feeling good fresh off their 72-22 takedown of ALA - Queen Creek last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Prescott Badgers took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flagstaff Eagles on Wednesday. The Badgers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Prescott still got an impressive performance from Addie Prisciandaro, who went 7 for 16 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Prisciandaro's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Abt, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Prescott smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.

Prescott's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Flagstaff, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Prescott didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-41 win against Mingus on the 21st. As for Flagstaff, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-27 defeat against Phoenix Country Day on the 17th.
