Baseball Recap: Danbury Starts Season with Victory Against Cardinal Stritch

Danbury had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cardinal Stritch Cardinals a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. This was payback for the Lakers, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tyler Harris and Dylan Kenley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Harris pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kenley pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At bat, Harris scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2, while Kenley scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Park Wilhite, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Logan Lucas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
