Softball Recap: Dover Makes It 20 in a Row at Home

Dover entered their tilt with Ashland on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Arrows a 6-0 shutout. The Crimson Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Kara Lint's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alli Hupp, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Fockler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Dover pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ashland, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Dover will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Arrows: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
