Lowell won the last time they faced Sparta and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Red Arrows put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp  7-1 victory. Considering the Red Arrows have won ten matches by more than five  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Ty Wasilenski tossed a big game,   striking out eight batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Blake Sitzer, who  went 3-for-4 with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run. That's the most  doubles  he has posted since back in March.  Nathen Raison was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
Lowell has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Sparta, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 16-8.
 Lowell and Sparta should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Red Arrows will  face off against  Wayland  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday with a big rank  advantage  (57 vs. 239). Meanwhile,  Sparta (ranked 72nd) will meet Calvin Christian (ranked 408th)  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
