Girard put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Corry Beavers as they made off with an 8-1 win. Those eight runs were actually the fewest the Yellowjackets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Joe Ferretti made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Kibbe, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kibbe is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Mason Kalicky, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Girard's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Corry, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Girard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against North East on the 15th. As for Corry, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-3 win against Warren on the 12th.
