Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brighton). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Highland Rams a 21-0 shutout on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won nine in a row.

Case Beames looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alexandros Price, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Jonathon Ellis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Brighton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland struck out seven times.

Brighton pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Highland, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will welcome West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.15 runs per game on average), something the Bengals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Highland, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against East at 4:00 p.m. The Leopards will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
