Baseball Game Preview: Auburn Trojans vs. Stadium Tigers

The Auburn Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Stadium Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Auburn has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 15.

Auburn came up short against Tahoma on Tuesday, falling 16-1.

Auburn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alec Smetheram, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Stadium was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Kennedy Catholic.

Ethan West was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Brandt Juergens was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Stadium, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Auburn suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Stadium in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
