Soccer Recap: Grand County Takes a Loss

Grand County lost against South Summit back in October of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Grand County couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Gemma Phillips, who's now up to 11 this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Grand County and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for South Summit, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Grand County wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 6-1 victory against Emery on the 26th. As for South Summit, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Maeser Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on September 2.
