After flying high against Dixon on Monday, Swansboro came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 3-1 to the West Carteret Patriots on Tuesday. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-15, 18-25, 25-15, 25-17.

Reese Hislop paced Swansboro's offense, picking up ten kills. Hislop got some help from Payton Hislop and her 13 assists. Lily Whited controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

West Carteret's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella-Grace Rodriguez, who had three digs and three aces. Anna Claire Oakes was another key player, getting 15 digs and two aces.

Swansboro's loss dropped their record down to 15-2. As for West Carteret, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

Coincidentally, Swansboro and West Carteret will both be playing Havelock the next time they take the court. The Patriots will host the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Pirates will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on the 2nd.
