Softball Game Preview: Northeastern Knights vs. Daleville Broncos

The Northeastern Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Daleville Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Daleville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Northeastern, who comes in off a win.

Northeastern is headed out to face Daleville after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Knights never let Wapahani get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Monday.

Not much got past Hailey Elsrod, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Wapahani off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zella Cook, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Brooklynne Adams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Northeastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wapahani only posted a batting average of .167.

Meanwhile, Daleville came up short against Knightstown on Wednesday and fell 7-4.

Daleville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Osborne, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Miley Womack, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Northeastern beat Daleville 8-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
