Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Burrillville Broncos
Toll Gate has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Burrillville Broncos at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Monday, Toll Gate lost to Rogers at home by a decisive 67-49 margin. Toll Gate has struggled against Rogers recently, as their contest on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Burrillville waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 63-44 win over Middletown.
Nolan Serafin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 23 rebounds. Serafin is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Furtado, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Toll Gate dropped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Burrillville, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Toll Gate was taken down by Burrillville 78-34 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Toll Gate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
