Soccer Recap: Brookstone Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Brookstone Cougars came up short against the Northgate Vikings and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Vikings are ranked 11th).

This is the second loss in a row for Brookstone and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Northgate, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Looking ahead, Brookstone will be playing in front of their home fans against Calvary Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brookstone will be up against Calvary Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.22 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Northgate, they will head out on the road to square off against Langston Hughes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northgate is facing Langston Hughes at the right time seeing as Langston Hughes is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
