Who's up and who's down

It was a perfect week for the MaxPreps power rankings: not a single team changed position in spite of last week's action. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.

Can't Touch This

Burke's 35 - 28 win over Millard West last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior James Burks. Burks rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns. That performance landed Burks among the top power-ranked players for the week.

No Stoppin 'Em

Norfolk Catholic was the better team in every quarter against Sutton last week and consequently the better team overall. Norfolk Catholic had all the answers against Sutton, winning 50 - 28. Norfolk Catholic did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. At 78 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
