Volleyball Recap: North Mecklenburg Vikings vs. Community School of Davidson Spartans
The North Mecklenburg Vikings were able to grind out a solid victory over the Community School of Davidson Spartans on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
While North Mecklenburg might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Community School of Davidson scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22.

Charles Bennett was the offensive standout of the contest as he had seven aces and one assist. Those seven aces gave him a new career-high. Richard Portillo also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.
They weren't the only good server: North Mecklenburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive games.
North Mecklenburg's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Community School of Davidson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Looking ahead, North Mecklenburg is taking a road trip to square off against Hough at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Community School of Davidson, they will venture away from home to take on South Iredell at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
