Football Game Preview: Terry Sanford vs. Westover

After two weeks on the road, Westover is heading back home. On Friday they take on Terry Sanford at 7:30 PM. The odds don't look promising for Westover, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.

Things haven't been easy for Westover, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. Last Friday, they were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 20-25 to Cape Fear. Westover's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Xavier Marsh, who picked up 59 yards on the ground and accumulated 157 passing yards. Marsh has now scored at least one touchdown in the past six games.

Meanwhile, Terry Sanford had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 26-14 victory over Douglas Byrd. The success made it back-to-back wins for Terry Sanford.

Terry Sanford's win lifted them to 4-2 while Westover's loss dropped them down to 2-4. In their win, Terry Sanford relied heavily on senior Leonard Mosley, who rushed for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns. Westover will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
