Wenatchee proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Sunnyside Grizzlies 10-8. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won six matches in a row.
Brock Toftness was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Ervin, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Toftness wasn't the only one making solid contact: Wenatchee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Wenatchee pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games.
