Basketball Recap: Cross Starts Season with Win Against Timberland + How To Watch

Cross took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Timberland Wolves by a score of 48-39. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won nine in a row.

Cross got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Wright out in front who went 8-for-13 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 18 points gave Wright a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ramsey, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

Timberland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kevin Brown, who posted 14 points, and Ellis Wiggins, who scored 12 points.

Timberland is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Cross and Timberland will both be playing Lake Marion the next time they take the court. The Wolves will host the Gators at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Trojans will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
