Softball Recap: Tucker County Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

While Tucker County put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Elkins. The Mountain Lions came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 4-0. That's more bragging rights for the Mountain Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tucker County's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isabel Bennett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Reagan Herron also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Tucker County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Elkins, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Tucker County will be playing in front of their home fans against Pendleton County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Elkins, they are taking a road trip to take on South Harrison at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
