Baseball Recap: Memorial Red Devils vs. Lowellville Rockets
Memorial had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it seven. They lost 8-0 to the Lowellville Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on April 14th.
As for Lowellville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-6. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.
For Lowellville's part, they got a big performance out of Kasen Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Liam Bartlett, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
Looking ahead, Memorial will be playing in front of their home fans against McDonald at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Lowellville, they will venture away from home to challenge Jackson-Milton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets are facing the Bluejays at the right time seeing as the Bluejays are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
