While Wasilla's win against Colony wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Knights on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on five straight.
Ramon Guzman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hunter Delcour was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jacob Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Wasilla's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Colony, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
