Softball Preview: Horizon Huskies vs. Mountain Pointe Pride
For the second straight game, Horizon will face off against Mountain Pointe. The Huskies will head out on the road to take on the Pride at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
Horizon took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Mountain Pointe. The victory was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kaia Stephens was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Holland Propp was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Horizon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Pointe only posted a batting average of .214.
The win got Horizon back to even at 8-8. As for Mountain Pointe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16-1 record this season.
