Soccer Preview: Mascoma Hunts for Offense After a Cold Stretch

After two games on the road, Mascoma is heading back home. They will square off against the Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mascoma's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mascoma's offense. They fell 2-0 to Trinity. While losing is never fun, Mascoma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire soccer rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Trinity are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Hillsboro-Deering was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Raymond could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Mascoma has now lost 11 of their last 12 games on the road. That leaves them at an 0-7-1 record this season. Hillsboro-Deering's draw makes their record 3-7-1 this season.
