Football Game Preview: Maui Sabers vs. Lahainaluna Lunas

Maui hasn't had much luck against Lahainaluna recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sabers will venture away from home to face off against the Lunas at 7:00 p.m. Maui has given up an average of 34.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Maui's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Kamehameha Maui on Friday. They were beaten by the Warriors 43-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Sabers haven't been shut out since back in August.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Lahainaluna, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past King Kekaulike 42-21 on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lunas' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Maui's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lahainaluna, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.

Maui was dealt a bruising 49-14 defeat at the hands of Lahainaluna in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Sabers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
