Toms River South was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against St. Rose on Tuesday. The Indians put the hurt on the Purple Roses with a sharp 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Charlotte Supino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on 11 hits.
At the plate, Addison Tuper was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Wilber, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.
Toms River South's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. As for St. Rose, they moved to 11-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
