Basketball Game Preview: Smithville Seminoles vs. Tremont Eagles

The Smithville Seminoles will head out on the road to challenge the Tremont Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Smithville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

On Tuesday, Smithville humbled Houlka with a 47-10 victory. That 37 point margin sets a new team best for the Seminoles this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Tremont's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 51-40 to Wheeler.

Smithville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Tremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Smithville came up short against Tremont when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 42-36. Can Smithville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
