Hardin Northern's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Elgin Comets 64-25. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Polar Bears had established a 28-point advantage.

Hardin Northern was led to victory by Jake Cook and Alex Gatchell. Cook shot 60% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Gatchell dropped a triple-double with 11 points, ten boards, and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Gatchell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Treysen Eibling, who posted seven points.

The win got Hardin Northern back to even at 1-1. As for Elgin, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Hardin Northern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-21 victory against Leipsic on the 6th. As for Elgin, they have also already played their next contest, a 56-43 win against Cardington-Lincoln on the 6th.
