Basketball Recap: Everett Comes Up Short

Everett lost against East Lansing back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings lost to the Trojans at home by a 72-53 margin. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

East Lansing was led to victory by Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr. and Kingston (KT) Thomas. Torbert, Jr. shot 73% from the field on his way to 26 points and six rebounds, while Thomas went 9-for-17 to rack up 24 points and eight boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Torbert, Jr. has scored at least a third of the Trojans' points. Dequarius (DQ) Stewart was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Everett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for East Lansing, the win (which was their 26th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Everett will face off against Lansing Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Lansing, they will challenge King at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
