Baseball Recap: North Salinas Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Lorenzo Valley, North Salinas was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on Lynbrook with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for North Salinas, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

North Salinas got a massive performance out of Preston Hobbs, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Hobbs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Gabriel, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

North Salinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lynbrook only posted an OBP of .125.

North Salinas' win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lynbrook, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Salinas will face off against Gonzales at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lynbrook, they will take on Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
