Preview: Post Antelopes vs. Sundown Roughnecks

Post has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Sundown Roughnecks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Post will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1285th, while Sundown is ranked 514th).

Post suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by New Home 64-10. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Post in their matchups with New Home: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Sundown came up short against Ropes on Friday and fell 47-37. Sundown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Sundown saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aria Hogan, who scored 13 points along with six blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Hogan is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Allie McCormick, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Post bumped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.2 points per game. As for Sundown, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

Post was dealt a bruising 63-21 loss at the hands of Sundown in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Post was down 38-7.
