Volleyball Recap: South's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

South entered their tilt with Madison on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Blue Streaks with a sharp 3-0 victory. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Rebels this season.

South walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-14, 25-21.

South got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Langa out in front who had nine aces and seven digs. Those nine aces gave Langa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Miozzi, who had five digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good server: South was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.

South's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Madison, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Medina on the 2nd. As for Madison, they will challenge Kirtland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
