Basketball Recap: Potter-Dix Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Landon Gasseling and Callen Mcconnell

Potter-Dix was the 30-28 winner over Lone Star when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Potter-Dix Coyotes fell 54-47 to the Lone Star Longhorns on Thursday.

Potter-Dix's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Callen McConnell, who posted ten points along with seven boards and three steals, and Landon Gasseling, who put up 19 points. That was a full 40.4% of Potter-Dix's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Dylan Tabor was another key player, putting up eight points.

Grant Kuntz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lone Star, posting 18 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds. Kuntz is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anderson Weathers, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Potter-Dix has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Lone Star, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Potter-Dix wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-36 loss against Garden County on the 7th. As for Lone Star, they have also already played their next game, a 60-47 win against Bethune on the 8th.
