Heritage's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Knightdale. The victory was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ellis Droke made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Droke was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Holden Kafes looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Cameron Small was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Blake Tillery, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Heritage hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knightdale struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Yellow Jackets.
Pinecrest's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was JC Woolard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Pinecrest's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-6.
Pinecrest's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Heritage has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445.
