Soccer Recap: Delano Takes a Loss

After flying high against Shafter last Thursday, Delano came back down to earth. The Delano Tigers took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wasco Tigers on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Delano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 822nd, while Wasco is ranked 334th).

Gonzalo Landa and Lionel Madrigal scored both of Delano's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Delano's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-3. As for Wasco, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Delano face off against the McFarland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wasco, they will head out to take on Shafter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
