Basketball Game Preview: Bowie Bulldogs vs. Douglass Eagles

The Bowie Bulldogs will take on the Douglass Eagles at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Bowie sitting on seven straight wins and Douglass on eight.

Bowie saw some tournament action on Saturday. They snuck past Leonardtown with a 55-51 victory.

Meanwhile, Douglass slipped by North County 65-64 on Saturday.

Douglass' win came from a few key players Bowie will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Makhye McKnight, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. Ami Rios was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Bowie's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Douglass, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Bowie didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Douglass in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win. Will Bowie repeat their success, or does Douglass have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
