Baseball Recap: Camarillo Victorious

Camarillo owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They came out on top against the Ventura Cougars by a score of 2-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Scorpions haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Adrian Ramirez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Camarillo is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Jordan Gonzalez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Escobar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Camarillo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ventura only posted a batting average of .167.

The win got Camarillo back to even at 8-8. As for Ventura, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camarillo will challenge Pacifica at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Ventura, they will take on Santa Paula at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
