Basketball Recap: West Marion's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

West Marion's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down the Perry Central Bulldogs 51-36. The contest marked the Trojans' most dominant win of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Perry Central lost, don't look at Austin Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydin Lawrence, who posted 11 points and three steals.

With the victory, West Marion broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-14. As for Perry Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Marion beat Perry Central by a score of 69-62 on Tuesday.
