Softball Recap: Vienna Wins Going Away Against Elverado

It was a Battle of the Birds when Vienna challenged Elverado on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-2 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.

Vienna got a great performance from Alli Vinson as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Rayonna Ridley was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Millie Partridge was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Vienna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Vienna's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Elverado, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Vienna wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 win against Zeigler-Royalton on the 30th. As for Elverado, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-6 defeat against Trico on the 6th.
