The Parker Braves will head out to take on the Bradford Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Parker's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Raines 11-0. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.
Brody Frye was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Frye was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Yassac Parra and Brynt Frye did most of the damage at the plate: Parra scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Brynt scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Parra also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Yaxiel Santiago, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Parker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bradford posted their biggest win since April 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hilliard with a sharp 10-2 victory. With that win, the Tornadoes brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Like Parker, Bradford also got a great game from a two-way player: Ryland Rike. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Rike has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Patrick Pendarvis was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Avery Burgin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Bradford's record now sits at 4-2. As for Parker, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Bradford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Parker hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having got 0 of their hits per game. It's a different story for Bradford, though, as they've only got 0 of their hits this season. Will they be able to contain Parker's hitters?
Parker might still be hurting after the 18-1 loss they got from Bradford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Parker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
