Football Recap: Kennedy Skates Past Marshalltown with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy). They blew past the Marshalltown Bobcats 49-0 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.

Kennedy's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.6 points this season. As for Marshalltown, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Kennedy and Marshalltown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Cougars will challenge Dowling Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (61 vs. 1). Meanwhile, Marshalltown (ranked 158th) will meet Waukee (ranked 29th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
