Volleyball Recap: Patrick County Cougars vs. Glenvar Highlanders
Patrick County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Glenvar Highlanders, falling 3-0. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
While Patrick County ultimately came up short, they really made Glenvar work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 25-19.
Jayden Callahan paced Patrick County's offense, picking up 13 kills. Callahan got some help from Camille Gonzalez and her 29 assists. Journey Moore controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Patrick County's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Glenvar, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patrick County will venture away from home to take on James River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glenvar, they will head out to square off against Cave Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
