Basketball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Fort Dodge Dodgers 62-28. One positive for the Railsplitters, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for LJ Maehl, who went 13 for 16 on her way to 35 points in addition to five boards and three steals for Fort Dodge. With that strong performance, Maehl is now averaging an impressive 17.8 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Pommer, who posted ten points and six steals.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fort Dodge, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Lincoln will head out to challenge Des Moines East at 6:15 p.m. on December 17th. As for Fort Dodge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-47 loss against Waterloo East on the 12th.
