Volleyball Recap: Marvin Ridge Takes a Loss

Marvin Ridge was the 3-1 winner over Weddington when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Marvin Ridge came up short against Weddington on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Mavericks were not able to get on the board.

While Marvin Ridge was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-18.

This is the second loss in a row for Marvin Ridge and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Weddington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Marvin Ridge and Weddington will both be playing Porter Ridge the next time they take the court. Weddington will head out to face Porter Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Marvin Ridge will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
