Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Melbourne). Everything went their way against the Valley Springs Tigers on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-0 win. Considering the Bearkatz have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maggie Pierson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Hope Cross was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Melbourne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Melbourne and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Valley Springs, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Melbourne beat the Tigers by a score of 17-2 later that day.
