Basketball Recap: Center Grove Picks Up 13th Straight Win on the Road

Center Grove won the last time they faced Whiteland and things went their way on Friday too. The Center Grove Trojans walked away with a 35-24 win over the Whiteland Warriors. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Warriors are ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Center Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haley Wagoner, who posted five points along with 11 boards and three steals. Ava Grant was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Center Grove pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Whiteland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Center Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-22 win against Bloomington North on the 21st. As for Whiteland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Anderson at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Whiteland is facing Anderson at the right time seeing as Anderson is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
