Volleyball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Francis was the 3-0 winner over Cudahy when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mariners fell just short of the Packers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, St. Francis sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-9.

Despite the loss, St. Francis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emma McGeary had 23 digs and two aces. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for McGeary. Florencia Hernando also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cudahy, the win snapped their losing streak at eight matches and leaves them with a 2-10 record.

St. Francis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Lake Country Lutheran on the 25th. As for Cudahy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Whitnall at 6:30 p.m. on October 7.
